How do FDNs run lab tests?
1. Medical Director Program
We have access to lab testing through the Medical Director Program. This program is a full-service lab-testing and clinical support system that allows unlicensed practitioners to order and interpret lab tests.
2. Partnerships with Labs
FDN-Ps have partnerships with specific labs that allow them to order tests directly. These labs provide the necessary testing kits and handle the analysis, which the FDN-P can then interpret for their clients.
3. Comprehensive Training
We go through extensive training in functional lab work, to learn how to interpret various types of lab tests. This training teaches us the knowledge to understand and utilize lab results effectively, even though we are not medical doctors.
4. Holistic Approach
We use lab results to look at the big picture of our client's health rather than focusing solely on symptom relief. We aim to identify hidden stressors and healing opportunities within the body, which allows us to create comprehensive, non-specific protocols aimed at restoring overall health.
5. Client Relationships
We spend more time with their clients compared to traditional Doctors. This allows us to gather detailed health histories and provide personalized care based on lab results. We work with our clients over extended periods, adjusting protocols as needed based on ongoing lab results and our clients feedback.
